9-The Iron Miracle 1- The Qur’an is the only religious scripture in the world that says, “marry only one”. 2- “Marry women of your choice, two, or three, or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one.” [Al-Qur’an 4:3] 3- “Ye a...re never able to be fair and just as between women....” [Al-Qur’an 4:129] 4- Average life span of females is more than that of males 5- World female population is more than male population 6- Restricting each and every man to have only one wife is not practical Even if every man got married to one woman, there would still be more than thirty million females in U.S.A who would not be able to get husbands (considering that America has twenty five million gays). There would be more than four million females in Great Britain, 5 million females in Germany and nine million females in Russia alone who would not be able to find a husband. Suppose my sister happens to be one of the unmarried women living in USA, or suppose your sister happens to be one of the unmarried women in USA. The only two options remaining for her are that she either marries a man who already has a wife or becomes 'public property'. There is no other option. All those who are modest will opt for the first 7- If a man has more than one wife, the parents of the children born of such marriages can easily be identified. The father as well as the mother can easily be identified. In case of a woman marrying more than one husband, only the mother of the children born of such marriages will be identified and not the father. Islam gives tremendous importance to the identification of both parents, mother and father. Psychologists tell us that children who do not know their parents, especially their father undergo severe mental trauma and disturbances. Often they have an unhappy childhood. It is for this reason that the children of prostitutes do not have a healthy childhood. If a child born of such wedlock is admitted in school, and when the mother is asked the name of the father, she would have to give two or more names! 8- Biologically, it is easier for a man to perform his duties as a husband despite having several wives. A woman, in a similar position, having several husbands, will not find it possible to perform her duties as a wife. A woman undergoes several psychological and behavioral changes due to different phases of the menstrual cycle. 9- A woman who has more than one husband will have several sexual partners at the same time and has a high chance of acquiring venereal or sexually transmitted diseases which can also be transmitted back to her husband even if all of them have no extra-marital sex. This is not the case in a man having more than one wife, and none of them having extra-marital sex. 10- The above reasons are those that one can easily identify. There are probably many more reasons why Allah, in His Infinite Wisdom, has prohibited polyandry.

CONCLUSION
What is Halaal ( هلال )?
Halal is an Arabic word meaning lawful or permitted. The opposite of halal is HARAAM (حرام ), which means unlawful or prohibited. Halal and haram are universal terms that apply to all facets of life. However, we will use these terms only in relation to food products, meat products, cosmetics, personal care products, pharmaceuticals, food ingredients, and food contact materials.
While many things are clearly halal or haram, there are some things which are not clear. Further information is needed to categorize them as halal or haram. Such items are often referred to as mashbooh, which means doubtful or questionable.
All foods are considered halal except the following (which are haram):
Swine/Pork and its by-products - Read more on WHY PORK IS PROHIBITED
Animals improperly slaughtered or dead before slaughtering
Alcoholic drinks and intoxicants
Carnivorous animals, birds of prey and certain other animals
Foods contaminated with any of the above products
Foods containing ingredients such as gelatin, enzymes, emulsifiers, and flavors are questionable (mashbooh), because the origin of these ingredients is not known.

Let's now move into the topic
The Islamic practice of slaughtering animals by means of a sharp cut to the front of the neck has frequently come under attack by some animal rights activists as being a form of animal cruelty, the claim being that it is a painful inhumane method of killing animals. In the West, it is required by law to stun the animals with a shot to the head before the slaughter, supposedly to render the animal unconscious and to prevent it from reviving before it is killed so as not to slow down the movement of the processing line. It is also used to prevent the animal from feeling pain before it dies.
German Research Studies Pain
It therefore may come as a surprise to those who have made such acclimations to learn of the results of a study carried out by Professor Wilhelm Schulze and his colleague Dr. Hazim at the School of Veterinary Medicine, Hannover University in Germany. The study: ‘Attempts to Objectify Pain and Consciousness in Conventional (captive bolt pistol stunning) and Ritual (halal, knife) Methods of Slaughtering Sheep and Calves’ concludes that Islamic slaughtering is the most humane method of slaughter and that captive bolt stunning, practiced in the West, causes severe pain to the animal.
In the study, several electrodes were surgically implanted at various points of the skull of all animals, touching the surface of the brain. The animals were allowed to recover for several weeks. Some animals were then slaughtered by making a swift, deep incision with a sharp knife on the neck cutting the jugular veins and the carotid arteries as well as the trachea and esophagus (Islamic method). Other animals were stunned using a Captive Bolt Pistol (CBP). During the experiment, an electroencephalograph (EEG) and an electrocardiogram (ECG) recorded the condition of the brain and the heart of all animals during the course of slaughter and stunning.
The results were as follows:
I – Islamic Method
1. The first three seconds from the time of Islamic slaughter as recorded on the EEG did not show any change from the graph before slaughter, thus indicating that the animal did not feel any pain during or immediately after the incision.
2. For the following 3 seconds, the EEG recorded a condition of deep sleep - unconsciousness. This is due to the large quantity of blood gushing out from the body.
3. After the above-mentioned 6 seconds, the EEG recorded zero level, showing no feeling of pain at all.
4. As the brain message (EEG) dropped to zero level, the heart was still pounding and the body convulsing vigorously (a reflex action of the spinal cord) driving a maximum amount of blood from the body thus resulting in hygienic meat for the consumer.
Why is Hijab Important ?
There are number of h...ealths and moral benefits that wearing the veil can provide the moral duty of wearing the veil (Hijab) in Islam is an Often-discussed topic among Muslim women. However, little has been written about scientific reasons that the veil is beneficial for society. There are, in fact, a number of health benefits that wearing the veil can provide, as well as many behavioral science studies that suggest that the Veil is the best attire (clothes) for women.
Protecting the head is very important from a health perspective. Results Of medical tests show that 40-60% of body heat is lost through the head, so persons wearing head coverings during cold months are protected about Fifty-percent more than those who do not. Chinese & Muslim medical texts take this concept even further. In the Hua Di Nei Jing (The Yellow Emperor’s Classic on Internal Medicine), wind is said to cause sudden changes within the body, & shaking, swaying, & Other movements that potentially upset the body’s equilibrium; thus, creating bad health.
These texts attribute the common cold to wind elements entering the body & causing the typical symptoms of sneezing & a Runny nose. In the traditional Islamic medical texts of Al Jawziyya, we can find numerous references to the “four elements” of fire, water, air, & earth, & How these affect the body in adverse ways. In particular, we are advised to stay away from drafts & to protect our heads in wind, breezes, drafts, & Cold weather.
All outdoor workers should wear some sort of head covering:
For this reason; protecting the head is even more important in warm weather. V.G. Rocine, a prominent brain research specialist, has found that brain Phosphorus melts at 108 degrees; a temperature that can be easily reached if one stays under the hot sun for any length of time without a head covering. When this happens, irreversible brain damage, memory loss & loss of some brain functions can result. Although this example is extreme, Brain damage can still be measured in small degrees from frequent exposure to & overheating of the head. Bernard Jensen, a naturopath & chiropractor, States that this is because the brain runs on the mineral phosphorus, which is very affected by heat.
Hygienic Purposes:
All public should wear a veil or head-covering Workers serving society to ensure cleanliness & purity. Workers in a Number of professions wears “veils” – nurses, fast food workers, and deli Counter workers, restaurant workers & servers, doctors, health care Providers, & many more. In fact, when we compare the number of workers who cover their heads to the number who do not, we find that more people Probably cover their heads than do not.
Social Influence:
Aside from personal & public health benefits of the Veil, it has numerous other benefits to society. In analysing visual data, Ball & Smith discuss the acknowledgement of sociologists that visual representations are influential in shaping people’s views of the world & their interpretations of life. Men use visual data to interpret their relationships with the women around them.
Many studies have found that when a person tries to rewire there instinctual perceptions, they are usually only rewired on the surface; their original perceptions still exist on some level. Brain studies show that we exist in a world of constantly varying light variables that force the brain to perform what is called “lateral inhibition” consequently, it provides us with a “steady” image as opposed to a “true” image of what we see.
Furthermore, lateral inhibition networks operate as part of the ” Unconscious” brain; largely, without providing any information to the ” Conscious” part of the brain about what they are doing. Therefore, the brain can provide varying perceptions of the world without our even being fully conscious of what it is processing.
Further studies cited in Encyclopedia Britannica show that how a female presents herself to society falls under the category of ritualised behaviour through which animals provide specific information to other animals, usually members of its own species. Virtually all-higher animals, Including humans, use displays to some extent to do this, & the best known displays are visual ones.
Some biologists actually restrict the term display to refer to visual signals or gestures. These visual signals, which in animals can be simply a bright colour or plume, encourage attraction. In humans, they are usually exhibited in ornamental hair, make up, or clothing.
In our society, most of the time attractive hairstyles & clothing are worn for the purpose of making the adorner more attractive (advertising & Television has institutionalised this reality). The ever-changing variations in fashion tend to affect the brain because it typically has trouble constantly adjusting to changing shadows & forms in the world.
Reasonably then, through “lateral inhibition,” the brain automatically simplifies these images into the unconscious message that attractive hair & clothing is meant to attract. Joining these two concepts together, we can see how the human male could receive the signal of ” attraction” from the brain before he has enough time to “block” it by “lowering his gaze.” Having to re-form an image already processed by the lateral inhibition network is a cause of stress for most people. Doing this day after day, after seeing many “displays,” potentially causes a great cumulative stress on society. Having to re-form an image already processed by the lateral inhibition network is a cause of stress for most people. Doing this day after day, after seeing many “displays,” potentially causes a great cumulative stress on society.
Present day stresses arise from many things; among these are the vast amounts of visual & physical input we are bombarded with in this “Information age” of personal freedom. The problem we face in this is that the body still continues to respond in the same fashion as during primitive times, releasing large amounts of these hormones, which can be very harmful . They can cause an increase in blood pressure, damage muscle tissue, lead to infertility, inhibit growth, damage the hippocampus, & suppress the immune system .
The two most effective solutions to this problem are, first , to convince the advertising industry, & society as a whole, to alter the presentation of women to our males. The second & more viable way is to simply influence women to dress modestly , which will help ensure that they do not send inappropriate visual signals to men.

A Report of the Surgeon General Department of Health and Human Services

Smoking 'causes damage in minutes', US experts claim
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/heal
==========================
According to National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute
Smoking is “the leading cause of preventable death and disease
in the United States,” according to the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention (CDC). People who smoke are up to six times more
likely to suffer a heart attack than nonsmokers, and the risk increases
with the number of cigarettes smoked each day. Smoking can
also shorten a healthy life, because smokers are likely to suffer a
heart attack or other major heart problem at least 10 years sooner
than nonsmokers.
But heart disease is far from the only health risk faced by smokers.
Smoking also raises the risk of stroke and greatly increases the
chances of developing lung cancer. Smoking is also linked with
many other types of cancer, including cancers of the mouth, urinary
tract, kidney, and cervix. Smoking also causes most cases of chronic
obstructive lung disease, which includes bronchitis and emphysema.
If you live or work with others, your secondhand smoke can cause
numerous health problems in those individuals. A recent study
shows a 60-percent increased risk of heart disease for nonsmokers
who are regularly exposed to secondhand smoke.
Currently, 25 percent of American men and 20 percent of American
women are smokers. Even more disturbing, 26 percent of high
school seniors smoke. In young people, smoking can interfere with
lung growth and cause more frequent and severe respiratory illnesses,
in addition to heart disease and cancer risks. The younger people
start smoking cigarettes, the more likely they are to become strongly
addicted to nicotine.
There is simply no safe way to smoke. Low-tar and low-nicotine
cigarettes do not lessen the risks of heart disease or other smokingrelated
diseases. The only safe and healthful course is not to smoke at
all.

According to The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) , a component of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services :
Tobacco/Nicotine:-
Brief Description : Through the use of tobacco, nicotine is one of the most heavily used addictive drugs and the leading preventable cause of disease, disability, and death in the U.S. Cigarette smoking accounts for 90% of lung cancer cases in the U.S., and about 38,000 deaths per year can be attributed to secondhand smoke. Cigarettes and chew tobacco are illegal substances in most U.S. states for those under 18; a handful of states have raised the age to 19.
Effects : Nicotine is highly addictive. The tar in cigarettes increases a smoker's risk of lung cancer, emphysema, and bronchial disorders. The carbon monoxide in smoke increases the chance of cardiovascular diseases. Pregnant smokers have a higher risk of miscarriage or low birthweight babies. Secondhand smoke causes lung cancer in adults and greatly increases the risk of respiratory illnesses in children.

According to CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) :
Overview
Smoking harms nearly every organ of the body. Smoking causes many diseases and reduces the health of smokers in general.1
Smoking and Death
Smoking causes death.
* The adverse health effects from cigarette smoking account for an estimated 443,000 deaths, or nearly one of every five deaths, each year in the United States.2,3
* More deaths are caused each year by tobacco use than by all deaths from human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), illegal drug use, alcohol use, motor vehicle injuries, suicides, and murders combined.2,4
* Smoking causes 90% of all lung cancer deaths in men and 80% of all lung cancer deaths in women.1
* An estimated 90% of all deaths from chronic obstructive lung disease are caused by smoking.1
Smoking and Increased Health Risks
Compared with nonsmokers, smoking is estimated to increase the risk of—
* coronary heart disease by 2 to 4 times1,5
* stroke by 2 to 4 times1,6
* men developing lung cancer by 23 times1
* women developing lung cancer by 13 times,1 and
* dying from chronic obstructive lung diseases (such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema) by 12 to 13 times.1
Smoking and Cardiovascular Disease
* Smoking causes coronary heart disease, the leading cause of death in the United States.1
* Cigarette smoking causes reduced circulation by narrowing the blood vessels (arteries) and puts smokers at risk of developing peripheral vascular disease (i.e., obstruction of the large arteries in the arms and legs that can cause a range of problems from pain to tissue loss or gangrene).1,7
* Smoking causes abdominal aortic aneurysm (i.e., a swelling or weakening of the main artery of the body—the aorta—where it runs through the abdomen).1
Smoking and Respiratory Disease
* Smoking causes lung cancer.1,2
* Smoking causes lung diseases (e.g., emphysema, bronchitis, chronic airway obstruction) by damaging the airways and alveoli (i.e., small air sacs) of the lungs.1,2
Smoking and Cancer
Smoking causes the following cancers:1
* Acute myeloid leukemia
* Bladder cancer
* Cancer of the cervix
* Cancer of the esophagus
* Kidney cancer
* Cancer of the larynx (voice box)
* Lung cancer
* Cancer of the oral cavity (mouth)
* Cancer of the pharynx (throat)
* Stomach cancer
* Cancer of the uterus
Smoking and Other Health Effects
Smoking is associated with the following adverse health effects:
* infertility,
* preterm delivery,
* stillbirth,
* low birth weight, and
* sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).1,8
Smoking is associated with the following adverse health effects:8
* Postmenopausal women who smoke have lower bone density than women who never smoked.
* Women who smoke have an increased risk for hip fracture than women who never smoked.

What kinds of illness and death are caused by smoking?
About half of all Americans who keep smoking will die because of the habit. Each year about 443,000 people in the United States die from illnesses related to tobacco use. Smoking cigarettes kills more Americans than alcohol, car accidents, suicide, AIDS, homicide, and illegal drugs combined.
Cancer caused by smoking
Cigarette smoking accounts for at least 30% of all cancer deaths. It is linked with an increased risk of the following cancers:
* Lung
* Larynx (voice box)
* Oral cavity (mouth, tongue, and lips)
* Pharynx (throat)
* Esophagus (tube connecting the throat to the stomach)
* Stomach
* Pancreas
* Cervix
* Kidney
* Bladder
* Acute myeloid leukemia
Smoking is responsible for almost 9 out of 10 lung cancer deaths. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in both men and women, and is one of the hardest cancers to treat. Lung cancer is a disease that can often be prevented. Some religious groups that promote non-smoking as part of their religion, such as Mormons and Seventh-day Adventists, have much lower rates of lung cancer and other smoking-related cancers.
Other health problems caused by smoking
As serious as cancer is, it accounts for less than half of the deaths related to smoking each year. Smoking is a major cause of heart disease, aneurysms, bronchitis, emphysema, and stroke.
Using tobacco can damage a woman's reproductive health and hurt babies. Tobacco use is linked with reduced fertility and a higher risk of miscarriage, early delivery (premature birth), and stillbirth. It is also a cause of low birth-weight in infants. It has been linked to sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), too.
Smoking can make pneumonia and asthma worse. It has been linked to other health problems, too, including gum disease, cataracts, bone thinning, hip fractures, and peptic ulcers. Some studies have also linked smoking to macular degeneration, an eye disease that can cause blindness.
Smoking can cause or worsen poor blood flow in the arms and legs (peripheral vascular disease or PVD.) Surgery to improve the blood flow often doesn't work in people who keep smoking. Because of this, many surgeons who work on blood vessels (vascular surgeons) won't do certain surgeries on patients with PVD unless they stop smoking.
The smoke from cigarettes (called secondhand smoke or environmental tobacco smoke) can also have harmful health effects on those exposed to it. Adults and children can have health problems from breathing secondhand smoke. (See our documents, Secondhand Smoke and Women and Smoking.)
Effects of smoking on how long you live and your quality of life
Based on data collected from 1995 to 1999, the CDC estimated that adult male smokers lost an average of 13.2 years of life and female smokers lost 14.5 years of life because of smoking.
But not all of the health problems related to smoking result in deaths. Smoking affects a smoker's health in many ways, harming nearly every organ of the body and causing diseases. According to the CDC, in 2000 about 8.6 million people had at least one chronic disease because they smoked or had smoked. Many of these people were suffering from more than one smoking-related problem. The diseases seen most often were chronic bronchitis, emphysema, heart attacks, strokes, and cancer. And some studies have found that male smokers may be more likely to be sexually impotent (have erectile dysfunction) than non-smokers. These problems can steal away a person's quality of life long before death. Smoking-related illness can limit a person's daily life by making it harder to breathe, get around, work, or play.

You Can Stop Smoking
The good news is that quitting smoking immediately reduces your
risk of heart disease and other serious disorders, with the benefit
increasing over time. Just 1 year after you stop smoking, your heart
disease risk will drop by more than half. Within several years, it will
approach the heart disease risk of someone who has never smoked.
No matter how long you’ve been smoking, or how much, quitting
will lessen your chances of developing heart disease
.How is a baby's gender determined?
In earlier years, people thought that a baby’s... gender was determined by the mother’s cells, or at least, it was thought that the cells coming from both the mother and the father determined the gender together. Even in recent days, especially in rural areas it is believed that mother is responsible for the gender of a baby. However, Allah gives us different information about this subject and reveals in the Qur’an that men and women were created from “the sperm put into the uterus”:
That He created the two sexes – male and female – out of a sperm-drop when it spurted forth. (Surat an-Najm, 45-46)
The correctness of this information, revealed in the Qur’an over 1,400 years ago was also recently scientifically proven with the development of genetics and microbiology. As a result of intensive and comprehensive research, it was found that gender was determined solely by the sperm cells coming from the male, and that the female had no part in this.
The factor which determines the gender is the chromosomes. Amazingly, only two of the forty-six chromosomes that determine our human structure are gender chromosomes. These two chromosomes are called XY in males and XX in females. The reason for this is that the chromosomes in question look like these letters. The Y and X chromosomes carry male and female genes respectively.
The formation of a human being begins with the merging of one of these chromosomes found in both males and females. If the X chromosome found in the female's ovum (and the female's egg, or ovum, has only the X chromosome) merges with the sperm that contains the X chromosome found in the male, then the baby is a girl. However, if it merges with the sperm with the Y chromosome, then the new-born child is a boy. As a result, the gender of the unborn child depends on which chromosomes (X or Y) found in the male merges with the female’s X chromosome in her ovum. However, until the discovery of the science of genetics, in other words until the 20th century, the belief that the gender of an unborn child was entirely determined by the female was widespread in many cultures. For this reason, women who gave birth to girls were frequently condemned. However, in the Qur’an, 13 centuries before the discovery of genes, information that disproves this superstitious belief was provided, and it was revealed that gender was based not on female but male chromosomes.
